Surrogacy

How is a Surrogacy Pregnancy Different Than Your Personal Pregnancy in Nevada?

You may have loved your personal pregnancy and had a great experience. Since you loved your personal pregnancy, you may want to help other couples get a baby of their own by being a surrogate mother for them. A surrogacy pregnancy is similar to a personal pregnancy in some aspects, but how is a surrogacy pregnancy different from your personal pregnancy? As a surrogate mother, you will see notice this from the beginning. Keep in mind, there is a whole surrogacy process in Nevada. This is a lot different than what you went through before with a personal pregnancy.

If you have any questions about the surrogacy process in Nevada, contact a surrogacy professional at our surrogate agency, Adoption and Surrogacy Choices of Nevada. We are more than happy to answer any questions you have or help you with anything involving surrogacy in Nevada. We know that it is a very different process, so it’s okay if you are feeling worried.

There is a Process Before You Can Become a Surrogate Mother in Nevada

The process of how to become a surrogate mother is a lot more than what it is when you become pregnant with your partner. In the surrogacy process, there is an entire process you have to undergo before the pregnancy which is set at the doctor’s office.

Before you go to a doctor, you have to make sure that you meet all of the surrogate requirements. This will get you ready and closer to starting the surrogacy process. You will then have to undergo psychological and physical screenings. This process before the pregnancy is to make sure that you are healthy both physically and mentally to take on this emotionally and physically tolling role.

When you become pregnant naturally, you aren’t limited by requirements. Yet, with becoming a surrogate mother, you will have to meet every one of the surrogacy qualifications in Nevada. Our surrogacy professionals here at Adoption and Surrogacy Choices of Nevada can tell you everything that needs to happen before the surrogacy process starts.

Surrogate Mothers Have to Take Different Medications and Have an Embryo Transfer

This is a huge difference compared to a personal pregnancy. In your personal pregnancy, you did not have to have an embryo transferred into you. You became pregnant naturally and didn’t need the doctor’s help. As a surrogate mother, you will be carrying the intended parents’ baby. For you to be able to do this, the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Treatment must occur. This is retrieving of both the mother’s egg and the father’s sperm which are then combined in a laboratory dish.

In order to become a surrogate mother and become pregnant, you will need their egg and sperm to combine into an embryo and for that embryo to be transferred inside of you. If the IVF treatment doesn’t work the first time, they will have to try again.

You will receive medication before the embryo transfer occurs to help your body prepare for a treatment that your body has never experienced. You will have to go to a weekly doctor’s appointment chosen by the intended parents to check on your status of if the medication is working properly with your body and to see if the pregnancy is continuing as normal after the embryo transfer. This part of the surrogacy process in Nevada is a more physical one and is a very unique experience that only surrogate mothers will ever go through.

You Won’t Need to Buy Anything Baby Related When You Are a Surrogate Mother

When you are a surrogate mother, you are not carrying a baby for yourself. You are carrying a baby for intended parents. When you give birth, the baby that you deliver will go to them and you won’t be the one taking care of him or her. This is where your personal pregnancy is different.

During your personal pregnancy, you probably prepared for the delivery with a lot of baby clothes, toys, food, and anything baby-related when you shopped. With this surrogacy pregnancy, you won’t be doing that. You won’t be the one raising the child you are carrying, so you won’t need all of the baby stuff that most parents buy as soon as they find out they’re pregnant. Stocking up on diapers and preparing a nursery isn’t going to be your responsibility this time. This may feel weird to you, but since it isn’t your baby you are carrying, you might not even think about it.

Recovery Time is Different For a Surrogate Mother

After you deliver the intended parents’ baby, you will get to recover from the pregnancy without having to raise a child. This is a great plus when compared to your personal pregnancy. The hard thing about a personal pregnancy is that you go from being pregnant to delivering the baby to starting to raise your baby right away. There is no time to recover because you have a cute baby to take care of.

Being a surrogate mother, you don’t have to take care of a baby after you give birth. You get to recover on your own time without having to wake up in the middle of the night to rock your baby back to sleep or breastfeed them multiple times a day when you are exhausted. This is a great part of being a surrogate mother and your recovery will go smoothly.
