Unplanned Pregnancy Needs:  Putting my baby up for Adoption in Las Vegas

By Mitchell Kennis

Discovering you are pregnant unexpectedly can be a very scary thing. However, you can consider some resources to turn an unplanned pregnancy into a controlled one. Many women may find themselves pregnant without the intent to be. One day you are simply worried about your work, partner, and where to have dinner. The next, you have a world of concerns growing inside, somewhat literally. It can be overwhelming facing a shift in your life all at once, but the good news is there are solutions.  We at Adoption Choices of Nevada are here to help you with all your unplanned pregnancy needs.

What Is My Unplanned Pregnancy Plan Now?

The first step to figuring out what to do now that you are pregnant is to take a deep breath. Yep, just inhale and exhale. Good. Everything will work out as long as you keep breathing.

Now, there are three options to think over regarding your unexpected pregnancy. You may choose to either parent the child yourself, abort the pregnancy, or give a baby up for adoption. We will detail each of these options separately.

Choosing to Parent Your Child

Perhaps the most obvious solution is to become and remain the mother to your child. Approximately 9 months from now, you will give birth. Before then, you ought to take note of what life you want to bring them into.

Think about your partner and if they are going to be a parent alongside you. Think about your living space and if it will be hospitable and comfortable for your baby. Think about your job and if they allow for Maternity Leave. Think about if your income can sustain a significant increase in spending.

Finally, consider your own feelings about raising a child. You have to be fair to yourself. What life are you going to give up by becoming a mother unexpectedly? Will you be happy and be able to share that happiness with your child? This sounds harsh, but it is important to take stock of your life before becoming a parent changes it completely.

Termination of Preganancy

The important thing here is in the state of Nevada. Terminating a pregnancy is legal. We respect your decision. If this is the direction you prefer to go, it is your right to do so.

We do recommend that you check and then double-check any abortion clinics you consider going to. There is still a threat posed by Crisis Pregnancy Centers (CPCs), also known as fake clinics, around the country.

That aside, we would also advise you once more to reflect on this decision. Don’t prolong it too long but do take a night or so just to cement the commitment in your mind. Evaluate your lifestyle but be wary. It is important this choice is not one forced on you by others.

Choosing Adoption as an Unwanted Pregnancy Option

If the other two options do not seem right for your circumstances, adoption in las vegas might just be what you’re looking for. Finding a family for your child by choosing adoption in Nevada is a completely viable, easy, and fulfilling choice. Perhaps think about this question if you’re not sure about adoption or don’t want to rush into anything:

Even if you only partially think the answer to this question is yes, we encourage you to start an adoption process. The first few steps will provide a good idea of what adoption in Las Vegas looks like.

The Adoption Process

The first step to any adoption plan is to reach out to your adoption agency. In most circumstances, this would require searching out which adoption agencies you would want in your corner. However, we at Adoption Choices of Nevada are already here for you.

Once you contact us, we will set you up with an adoption counselor. This one-on-one consultant will help advise you on the next part of the plan while answering any questions you have.

Together, you will decide what type of adoption you want: open, semi-open, or closed. (For more information on the different types of adoption, visit Adoption Choices of Nevada.) Afterward, you can choose your child’s adoptive parents, a family you believe they would be happy with. Then your counselor will assist with any other details, including a birth plan and financial aid.
